00:43
we’re going to spend time talking about
00:45
if you have a list of pot is podcast

definitely go to Daniel Geffen comm and
00:49
sign up get listen to this podcast the
00:51

00:52
successful entrepreneurs around the
00:53
world I’ve got this crazy success at you
00:58
know the part I love most about Daniel
00:59
is what he’s most passionate out of the
01:01
family and also entrepreneurs and things
01:04
and so with all that said then I just
01:06
want to dive right in anything else you
01:07
want to add about yourself here before
01:08
we go right into some authenticity stuff
01:10
nah that’s just that’s just I love it
01:15
yeah that’s good enough man all right
01:17
you win I think I was most attracted to
01:20
you about and that was the importance of
01:22
stories we just released expert secrets
01:24
as far as the book and you and I were
01:26
talking about working with russell
01:27
brunson and and the opportunity of being
01:30
authentic and things that and
01:31
storytelling has become one of the most
01:33
important things we’re seeing in
01:35
marketing we’ve got a lot of people who
01:37
are spending time out there creating
01:38
videos and things of that sort we were
01:41
joking around
01:41
earlier about you know the whole idea as
01:42
far as you know you see all these
01:44
pictures on Instagram with the Lambos
01:46
and the bikini clad girls and all this
01:47
kind of stuff and and you were kind of
01:50
coming out against against that and I
01:52
want to kind of address why why against
01:55
that in what why is authenticity so
01:57
important everything that you’re doing
01:58
okay cool so it’s very simple the reason
02:04
why Lamborghinis and hot girls and big
02:06
Mancha’s and swimming pools and all that
02:08
stuff doesn’t work is because nobody
02:10
really cares like we don’t really care
02:12
about your stupid landing
02:13
like you know two things are going to
02:16
come across a few if you basically take
02:18
a picture of your rented Lamborghini
02:20
either that you’re a complete jackass or
02:23
or I’m jealous and so like I feel bad
02:26
about myself so dude thank you for
02:28
making me feel like a little wiener I
02:30
neither of those feet neither of those
02:33
feelings are positive like nothing they
02:35
don’t inspire me they don’t motivate me
02:37
right but when I see somebody who’s real
02:40
who’s like this is who I am that’s what
02:44
inspires me that so that’s what builds a
02:46
connection a deep connection and I think
02:48
Russell Brunson does that really well
02:50
like if you go to Russell Branson’s
02:51
website for example you know you click
02:54
on the video and he’s standing there in
02:57
his garden or in the park wherever he is
02:58
right there’s no fancy car there
03:01
although Russell I’m sure drives a very
03:03
fancy car you could have taken it in his
03:05
you know mansion which you know he
03:07
didn’t I’m not going to mention his wife
03:10
and he all he did was he just literally
03:15
stood there and talked about how when he
03:18
got married for two years he couldn’t
03:21
have children they they they struggled
03:23
to have children and I’m telling you
03:24
that when I was you know I had Russell
03:29
on my show and I was preparing for the
03:31
interview and I watched that video I
03:33
cried I had tears in my eyes and and I
03:37
connected to him on such a deep level
03:39
and that’s that so many internet
03:43
marketers and people online are missing
03:46
out because they’re not connecting to
03:48
people because they just they think they
03:51
know what people want they don’t it’s
03:53
really not the Lamborghinis and the
03:55
fancy-schmancy houses it really isn’t um
03:58
and you know what I’ll give you a give
04:01
you an example ok everybody’s trying to
04:04
game the system right we’re all trying
04:06
to get a million quadrillion followers
04:08
into the ground right we’re all trying
04:10
to get like a hundred thousand likes on
04:12
our Facebook post or page right we’re
04:14
trying to get all the lovely and now
04:16
that’s heart and and lovely flowers I
04:18
don’t even know where it’s going to go
04:19
next right
04:20
and I’ll be honest with you like I try
04:22
to gain the system - like we try to like
04:24
put these quirky little quotes like
04:26
you’re amazing you know like you know
04:28
like I don’t know all these super cool
04:30
quotes and I try to you know I tried
04:34
different things and to be honest with
04:36
you that doesn’t really work that well
04:37
well one day about three weeks ago it
04:41
was my grandfather’s memorial my
04:45
grandfather died about two years ago he
04:47
was 83 years old and he was he was a
04:53
miracle my grandfather was in the
04:55
Holocaust
04:57
he watched both of his parents get shot
04:59
in the head in front of him he was about
05:02
13 years old all of his siblings five of
05:06
them were all murdered my grandfather
05:09
was actually shot and buried alive and
05:13
they basically they missed him they date
05:16
it the bullet went through his shoulder
05:19
and he dropped to the ground and he was
05:23
in a pile of bodies and he lay there and
05:26
pretended to be dead he waited and
05:30
waited for for a number of hours until
05:32
in the middle of the night he basically
05:35
got up and and ran away they caught him
05:40
he was hung twice both times the sirens
05:44
went off there were false alarms one
05:48
time he was about 12 feet from the gas
05:51
chambers and a Nazi soldier was standing
05:55
next to him and the Nazis horse made on
06:00
on the Nazis boot and so this Nazi
06:04
turned around to my grandfather who was
06:05
standing in the line there he said come
06:08
here you dirtied you clean this up
06:10
my grandfather walked out of the line
06:12
cleaned up the boot and then then the
06:15
dis not see soldiers said to him get out
06:18
get out of here so these are some of
06:23
things that happened to much of my
06:24
grandfather and it was it was his
06:27
Memorial Day and I wanted to you know
06:29
basically just write a post about him in
06:32
his memory
06:34
and what I wrote that story in the post
06:36
and I also said the following I said you
06:38
know I’ve interviewed now over 80 very
06:42
very successful people from all over the
06:45
world but nobody nobody ever will
06:50
inspire me more than my grandfather a
06:53
grandfather will always be the person I
06:57
look up to the most and I put a picture
07:00
of him with this beautiful smile and I
07:03
said you would see his beautiful smile
07:05
you would never know what was behind
07:07
that smile you would never know what
07:08
this man went through and I’ll be honest
07:13
with you Dave
07:14
I thought nothing of it I was just
07:15
purely sharing I was just posting it in
07:18
his memory within 24 hours that post
07:22
went completely viral it went everywhere
07:25
it just got shared and shared got shared
07:28
about 700 times on Facebook it’s got I
07:33
think it was like 5,000 likes that was
07:36
just on my personal thing and then all
07:38
the other you know interactions on all
07:41
the earth I couldn’t even keep up with
07:43
it I mean hundreds and hundreds and
07:45
hundreds of comments i I couldn’t
07:48
respond to every single one but it was
07:50
so beautiful
07:51
people were like so inspired people were
07:54
writing me a whole thing about wow
07:57
you’re your grandfather really really
07:59
was a special man and you should
08:00
continue his legacy and I Dave I was so
08:04
taken aback because I didn’t realize
08:07
what an impact it will actually would
08:10
have on people but that’s where it comes
08:13
down to the fact that we live in a
08:16
society we live in a generation that is
08:19
so fake it’s so filled with with filters
08:22
and likes and and different angles and
08:26
you can I mean you can freakin make
08:27
yourself look like whatever you want
08:29
like you just take pictures and filter
08:30
it down like just it it’s it’s so fake
08:33
we live in such a fake world that people
08:36
crave they literally crave authentic
08:40
genuine real people that’s it
08:47
you know that’s what people crave and I
08:50
promise you for those of you listening
08:51
if you just be you just be you just
08:56
share yourself share your weaknesses
08:58
share your weaknesses and people will
09:01
fall in love with you and they will buy
09:03
into you and they will buy your product
09:05
not because your product is cheaper or
09:08
better they will buy your product
09:11
because they buy into you as a person
09:14
Wow yeah yeah I could say I was I was
09:21
really touched when I was doing the
09:23
preparation for the faff in this podcast
09:25
to see that post from your grandfather
09:29
to hear you share it is totally
09:31
different I can tell you I’m not putting
09:35
that close to my dad I’m still not as
09:37
close as I’d like to be but I was really
09:40
close to my mom’s grandfather and when I
09:42
heard your story about your dad about
09:45
your grandfather and then to actually
09:47
hear you say it I mean I’ve got chills
09:50
only because it’s for one he’s an
09:54
amazing man having never met him
09:55
obviously but the part I’m most
10:00
impressed by is who you’ve become
10:03
because of him and I think that that’s a
10:09
huge legacy for him is you and that’s
10:12
pretty awesome
10:13
thank you really awesome and I know when
10:17
we have sorry I’m usually choked up on
10:20
these things um but I can tell you the
10:24
it’s such a what you’re talking about is
10:27
one of the things as a marketer you know
10:29
we struggle with all the time and that
10:31
is yeah you want to sell things I get
10:33
that but I can tell you that as I’ve
10:36
been around Russell and as I’ve been
10:38
around highly highly successful
10:41
entrepreneurs I mean seven eight nine
10:44
ten figure
10:46
billionaire types of entrepreneurs it’s
10:47
amazing to me to see those who are the
10:50
most successful and those who are at the
10:52
most peace in their own life are those
10:55
who are not fake where what you see is
10:57
what you get and that authenticity is so
11:00
magnetic
11:01
and attracts people so much it’s again
11:03
it was one of the main patience I really
11:05
wanted to have you on the show you know
11:06
we were joking around about a podcast i
11:10
did recently about messenger bots and
11:11
all that kind of stuff and now you’re
11:14
kind of against all that and against
11:15
just the the idea as far as not being
11:18
real and i really get I really
11:21
appreciate how authentic you are and
11:24
your message as far as to other
11:25
marketers to truly be extremely
11:28
authentic it’s been a lot of fun here at
11:31
cliff Paul’s I’ve been working with
11:32
Russell we do we’re now filming
11:35
everything similar to kind of a Gary B
11:37
thing I know you’re you’re going
11:38
head-to-head with vaynermedia here in a
11:40
different topic what gets with just a
11:41
second but I think it’s it’s been a lot
11:45
of fun as as we started filming things
11:47
that it’s behind the scenes it’s what
11:51
people really like to see it’s been
11:53
really kind of fascinated as we get it
11:55
more out of fun for us and some of the
11:56
things we were doing and you don’t
11:58
started off with some Instagram stories
12:00
and things and it’s gotten to the point
12:01
that where we’ve literally hired a guy
12:03
who Russell basically films things all
12:06
the time and we send out send this
12:08
gentleman guy by name Kevin is
12:09
absolutely an amazing videographer
12:11
editor and he basically creates behind
12:14
the scenes you know funnel hacker TV
12:17
about we’ve released you know three
12:19
episodes a week of just what’s happening
12:21
behind the scenes as far as what we’re
12:23
trying to build and create and it’s been
12:25
really just fascinating to me to see how
12:27
those are the things that people really
12:29
they really want to know they want to
12:31
know what you know why is Russell doing
12:34
this or why is Russell doing that or
12:35
what’s he up to next or and some of the
12:37
times it’s just quirky and it’s stupid
12:39
but I think those quirky and stupid
12:42
things and as you were making mentioning
12:44
some time it’s those weaknesses that
12:45
authentic true self as that comes
12:48
through to people it resonates and
12:50
people go you know what again it goes
12:53
back to the old saying though people
12:54
like to do business with people they
12:55
like it’s just it’s hard to like someone
12:58
we can’t trust and I think authenticity
13:00
is what you talked about is there’s no
13:02
better way of building trust and being
13:04
totally true well that’s why I love
13:07
autobiographies I’ve recently been
13:09
getting very into reading all the
13:11
autobiographies and watching documentary
13:14
because the difference between Auto
13:16
autobiography and a book is that when
13:19
the author writes a book he’s talking at
13:21
you right he’s telling you do this don’t
13:24
do that do this don’t do that and I feel
13:26
like you know it’s like it doesn’t it’s
13:29
not as powerful is when I kind of just
13:32
read about his life and I hear his
13:36
struggles and I hear how he started with
13:38
nothing and he built himself up and he
13:40
got knocked down and then he did this
13:42
and he did that and that for me I
13:45
learned so much more I have an audio
13:48
biography about somebody then them
13:52
telling me what they think I should be
13:54
doing or what works for them
13:56
right and it’s the same thing with with
13:58
movies like you can you can watch a
14:00
movie I love documentaries that you
14:02
watch people’s lives and you see like
14:05
for me recently I watched the McDonald’s
14:08
movie right break in the day Wow I’m
14:12
just like oh my goodness me this guy he
14:17
like really worked as took herself right
14:19
I mean literally like we did we just
14:23
look at we look at McDonald’s today and
14:24
we like yeah there’s that dawn
14:25
McDonald’s my dog but you look at the
14:28
story of what he went through and how he
14:31
did it in what and it’s like now I
14:34
understand what went into it right
14:36
I watched Walt Disney and for those of
14:38
you listening if you haven’t watched
14:40
these two movies or two movies that you
14:41
must see the it’s called the founder
14:44
which is the McDonald’s story the
14:45
founder and the other one is the Walt
14:48
Disney which i think is called becoming
14:51
Walt
14:52
to my right David’s because it’s called
14:54
becoming Walt is becoming at me yes it
14:57
is I watched that with my kids I have
15:00
four children and you know I want them
15:02
to see instead of playing Angry Birds
15:05
and all this other nonsense and things
15:07
like apps and whatever it is that they
15:09
busy on you know it’s amazing you show
15:12
them look this is what Disney became
15:14
this is how he became who his freakin
15:17
studio got burnt down to the ground
15:20
and he had nothing and he had to start
15:22
all over again and then something else
15:24
happened and and he got let down and any
15:27
when a debt and and you’re just like
15:29
honestly you’re watching this and you’re
15:31
going how how did this guy produce what
15:37
he produced after going through all of
15:39
this and it’s absolutely amazing and
15:43
that to me is so much more powerful than
15:45
anything else like the reason why I
15:48
believe podcast shows are so powerful
15:51
today and the reason why I’m getting on
15:54
podcast shows like this one and the
15:56
reason why I’ve got my own podcast show
15:58
is because when people are able to take
16:04
30 minutes to really share who they are
16:07
and where they’re coming from and their
16:09
story it’s just so much more powerful
16:12
than putting out an ad on Facebook or
16:15
putting out an ad on YouTube like I’ve
16:18
got a question for your audience days
16:20
like honestly how many of you noticed
16:22
the Facebook ads right how many of you
16:24
skip the YouTube ads you know those five
16:27
seconds you like one - okay right right
16:33
it’s so true right you scroll up your
16:35
Facebook feed and you see sponsored no
16:37
next next we’re literally this
16:40
generation we are we’ve we’ve got
16:43
filters in our brains we’ve got these I
16:45
promise you I bet you our brains have
16:47
like this little this little piece in
16:50
there called a filter filter ads right
16:52
we’re born filtering ads out of our life
16:55
so anytime we get sold to any time
16:58
there’s a interruption we just skip over
17:01
it we just ignore it so you know there
17:03
are companies spending tens of thousands
17:05
of dollars or hundreds of thousands of
17:07
dollars a month on ads whether it’s in
17:10
papers or in in radio or YouTube or
17:14
Facebook right and to me what so much
17:18
more powerful is getting like Russell
17:20
getting on a podcast show like mine and
17:23
telling over his story and then talking
17:25
about how he came up with clickfunnels
17:27
that’s so much more powerful then and AD
17:30
popping up saying oh click files here
17:32
you go I mean I’m not bashing Facebook
17:35
ads I mean I think everybody should be
17:37
doing Facebook ads but I just think that
17:40
people are completely
17:41
missing such a powerful force if you’re
17:45
not getting on podcast shows and telling
17:48
your story because that’s so much more
17:50
powerful than all the ads and everything
17:52
else in you know I’m saying Dave oh no I
17:55
totally agree and again I can’t now I
17:58
just echo again a couple of different
18:00
things there definitely I should be
18:01
reading and listening to autobiographies
18:03
for sure and again I I love both just
18:05
saw founded this last week with my
18:07
family and again becoming Walter just
18:09
amazing but I think the part I love most
18:11
about what you’re saying that applies
18:12
directly to people listen to this
18:14
podcast and that’s the importance of
18:16
them getting out on other people’s
18:17
podcast and sharing their story because
18:20
people connect with that they resonate
18:22
with that I’ve been it was actually
18:23
really kind of fascinating i we just
18:25
went through this expert secrets book
18:27
launch and I’ve been trying forever to
18:30
get Amy Porterfield to promote for us
18:32
which she just has never wanted to do
18:34
but having her on the podcast was when
18:38
Russell was on her podcast it was crazy
18:41
I mean I honestly I was amazed she was
18:43
one of our top ten affiliates and yet
18:47
she never promoted a thing and it’s all
18:49
because the podcast host has credibility
18:52
and when they bring a guest you you
18:56
automatically get a part of that
18:58
credibility
18:58
the only reason Daniels on here is for
19:01
one because he’s an absolutely amazing
19:02
person and if you don’t know Daniel you
19:04
have to start following his podcast but
19:06
the fact that you’re on my podcast
19:09
funnel hacker radio people are gonna
19:11
listen just because they subscribe on a
19:13
regular basis to funnel hacker radio and
19:15
even though you have a ton of
19:17
credibility yourself you get some of my
19:19
own credibility just by being on our
19:21
show and I think it’s just again I
19:23
highly recommend you guys if you are if
19:25
you’re not getting on podcasts and you
19:27
don’t think that they there’s any way of
19:29
monetizing the podcast you are
19:31
completely wrong it is one of the things
19:33
I can tell you from our business I’m
19:35
always trying again I was honored to be
19:37
able to get Russell on Daniels podcast I
19:39
mean was a huge huge seriously I mean it
19:42
you’ve interviewed some of the most
19:44
amazing entrepreneurs literally from
19:45
around the world and so when I had that
19:47
opportunity to have Russell on your
19:48
podcast it was an honor for me and I
19:51
know how much he appreciated as well
19:52
just because you now have the
19:54
opportunity to interview
19:55
Russell to an audience that he may
19:56
otherwise never had the chance of
19:58
getting 200 I think one of the things I
20:03
know that you’ve been working on a ton
20:05
recently we’re kind of joked around
20:06
about earlier as far as going at going
20:08
against vaynermedia but was that whole
20:10
idea of helping other people get onto
20:13
podcast or helping other people get
20:15
their story out and being authentic and
20:17
realizing the importance of that if you
20:19
don’t mind just take a few minutes and
20:20
help people understand what gets
20:22
featured is and get featured calm and
20:24
how why it’s important yeah so so get
20:28
featured comment I mean essentially it
20:30
was born out of the frustration right
20:33
kind of like what Russell Russell
20:36
created clickfunnels because he was
20:37
frustrated with having to do so many
20:39
different bits and pieces and then
20:41
putting them all together and it was
20:42
clunky and that’s how clickfunnels was
20:44
born it’s the same thing would get
20:46
featured as a podcast host I was getting
20:50
emails every single day from people
20:52
going hey Daniel I love your podcast
20:55
show I’d love to be a guest you know I
20:56
just wrote a new book and I just
20:58
launched a new company or I’m a
20:59
consultant and I need to get on your
21:01
show and I just like click delete click
21:04
delete delete delete delete delete it
21:06
why because they don’t know how to pitch
21:10
themselves it’s like you know it’s like
21:12
you know SEO that I can get you to
21:14
number one spot on Google and you know
21:16
in three weeks and blah blah blah yeah
21:19
delete spam spam so after about a couple
21:22
of months of me basically just yes
21:25
deleting all of these requests and
21:27
here’s the thing
21:28
David the reason why people want to get
21:30
on podcast shows is because they see all
21:32
the big influencers getting on there and
21:33
there’s a reason why is it Gary
21:35
Vaynerchuk who’s whose charges a hundred
21:38
thousand dollars an hour to speak right
21:42
a hundred thousand he’ll go on to a
21:44
podcast show and speak for 30 minute and
21:47
he won’t charge anything why forget
21:50
about that for a second what I had Vern
21:52
Harnish on my show okay
21:54
the guy charges fifty thousand dollars
21:57
for a speech fifty thousand dollars and
22:00
he came on my show it was a 30 minute
22:03
show didn’t charge me a penny why right
22:06
Jay Abraham do you know how much Jay
22:09
charges for consultancy I think it’s
22:11
like five it’s like sonic like I think
22:15
it’s $25,000 foot and the guy comes on
22:18
my show
22:19
why because they’ve realized the power
22:22
of podcasting the power of getting on
22:24
like you said David so true right when
22:27
you watch Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant
22:30
Shaquille O’Neal and and and they they
22:33
there’s like an advert with them wearing
22:35
nike boots or nike air
22:36
oh now I’ve got to go buy Nike shoes
22:40
because Michael Jordan who’s yeah it’s
22:43
like seven foot two thousand right and
22:46
he’s got the hands of size of Mexico of
22:47
course he’s freaking good at basketball
22:49
but no no it must be the freaking shoes
22:51
that’s what it is it it’s the Nike shoes
22:54
if only I get myself a pair of those
22:56
Nike shoes I’ll be able to slam dunk
22:58
like Michael Jordan oh sure right but we
23:01
all buy into that because that’s what
23:03
influencer marketing is all about right
23:05
if you know some famous actress wears
23:09
you know some piece of clothing suddenly
23:11
boom every single girl is but because
23:14
while she looks great no she looks great
23:16
because she looks she could look good in
23:18
freakin anything put a sack cloth on it
23:19
look good but it works right so it’s so
23:23
true like when I come onto your show
23:24
Dave it’s your show your listeners had
23:27
probably never heard of me like a good
23:30
portion of your listeners never heard of
23:32
Daniel Gotham before but they know Dave
23:34
Woodward and they love you and they tune
23:36
in to your show and they look forward to
23:38
it and they plug those little earbuds
23:40
those allure things into their earbuds
23:42
and they go for their jog or they drive
23:43
and Lee and they and they are listening
23:46
to every word you’re saying because they
23:47
really look up to you and they and they
23:49
value what you now who’s the guest
23:51
Daniel Geffen who’s he well he must be
23:54
somebody because Dave wouldn’t be having
23:56
some Joker on his show for it right he
23:58
wouldn’t waste his time with some jokes
23:59
so he must be somebody right so there’s
24:03
like this automatic like you build trust
24:06
and credibility instantly I’ll tell you
24:08
something else which is incredible about
24:10
podcast shows us and really there’s we
24:13
touched upon the influence of marketing
24:15
just now
24:16
we touched upon the storytelling the
24:18
power of storytelling which we already
24:19
mentioned and the
24:21
third thing which is really cool is if
24:23
you’ve got a budget for marketing if you
24:25
put let’s take you know $5,000 $10,000
24:29
and you put it into Facebook ads for
24:31
example or Google AdWords once you’ve
24:34
put that money down and those clicks or
24:38
impressions have taken place you will
24:40
never ever ever get another lead again
24:44
after it’s all used up never once it’s
24:48
done it’s done when you go on a podcast
24:50
show let’s take this podcast show right
24:53
here right now in three years time from
24:57
now somebody could send me an email
24:59
saying Daniel I loved you know the show
25:03
you did with Dave you know by the way I
25:06
want to get featured on podcast shows
25:08
and I’d love to know how get featured
25:10
can can help me and I’ll be like
25:12
scratching my head going hold on a
25:13
second
25:14
Dave wood wood podcast show that was
25:17
three years ago right but it’s evergreen
25:21
content people will stumble upon this
25:24
episode for years to come
25:25
because it’s good quality content and
25:27
it’s always going to be there and that’s
25:30
the other thing that’s so powerful about
25:32
getting on podcasters you can it’s
25:34
always it’s evergreen I serious I cannot
25:38
echo that enough it’s amazing you know
25:40
we always talk about people binge
25:42
watching TV shows I’m amazed how many
25:44
people binge listen to a podcast I mean
25:46
I do the same thing I thought oh sudden
25:48
I find a podcast and I like it man I’m
25:50
that’s the channel I’ve listened to I
25:52
want to hear every single thing that’s
25:53
happening I’ll bench yeah 20 30 episodes
25:56
well it’s think about it right if you
25:59
watch the be full season episode three
26:02
of 24 right oh you’re gonna go back go
26:08
back
26:08
forget you can watch the whole damn
26:10
today right it’s prison break you know
26:12
season 3 episode 4 oh I’m gonna go back
26:16
to the beginning of watch the whole damn
26:17
thing right you if you stumble upon gary
26:20
vaynerchuk’s dailyvee and you’ve never
26:22
heard of gary vaynerchuk before i
26:24
promise you you will go back and start
26:27
watching all of his dailyvees because
26:28
you’ll just become hooked you know Casey
26:30
nice stats you stumble upon one of his
26:32
videos and it’s like
26:33
holy crap this guy’s mental let me go
26:36
back in like watch all his stuff and you
26:37
start binging we all do it too same
26:39
thing with excuse me with podcast shows
26:41
I have guys literally people emailing me
26:44
saying Daniel I just drove from New York
26:49
to I don’t know Arizona right and I just
26:52
won’t listen to all of you why would you
26:57
do that other people doing it’s crazy
27:01
and so I decided one day that I could
27:07
help people get on podcast shows because
27:09
there are so many people who don’t know
27:11
how a to pitch themselves to the hosts
27:13
be they don’t know how to tell a good
27:16
story because it’s all about telling a
27:17
good story see they don’t know what
27:21
message to give over because you’ve got
27:24
to have one clear concise message if you
27:26
go on a show and you’re all over the
27:28
place and you’re kind of just talking
27:29
about all different things then the
27:31
listeners don’t really have one thing to
27:34
go away with and if they don’t have one
27:35
thing to go away with you’re not very
27:37
memorable they don’t remember you right
27:40
you need to be the guy who left this
27:43
message right and so again it’s a
27:46
pitching to the host and you’ve got to
27:48
know how to pitch B is having an
27:50
incredible story a very powerful story
27:52
and I believe that every single person
27:54
listening to this and I know you’re
27:56
probably thinking oh I don’t have a
27:57
story my life’s pretty boring I promise
28:00
you get on a call with me and I’ll show
28:02
you you’ve got an amazing story okay
28:04
three is is the message what’s your core
28:07
message what’s the one thing that you
28:09
want to deliver like if you’ve noticed
28:10
during this whole conversation with me
28:13
and Dave it’s all about authenticity
28:14
because that’s the one thing that I’m
28:16
now I could talk about lots of things I
28:18
could talk about entrepreneurship I
28:20
could talk about leads I are getting
28:22
more clock ions like I talked about
28:24
outsourcing I can talk about you know
28:27
time management like you name it I can
28:29
talk about lots of things that I’ve done
28:31
but I’ve chosen one thing specifically
28:33
because I know that that’s going to
28:35
leave an impression you’re going to go
28:37
away and you’re going to think about
28:38
Daniel Geffen and about the power of
28:41
authenticity and storytelling and that’s
28:43
the one clear message I want to leave
28:44
and then the
28:45
third thing is what’s your
28:46
call-to-action because there’s no point
28:48
you going on a ton of podcast shows now
28:51
and then not have a way to turn those
28:54
listeners into clients because if you
28:56
can’t turn those listeners into clients
28:57
you’re wasting your time and so we
29:00
basically started the company to help
29:02
our clients by pitching them to the
29:05
hosts by getting them prepared so they
29:07
could become incredible guests and so
29:12
that they can turn the listeners into
29:13
leads and eventually into clients and
29:16
that’s what we do fascinating just
29:19
absolutely fascinating I can’t I’ve got
29:21
nothing geez all I can say is I hope you
29:24
guys are going seriously if you haven’t
29:26
already checked it out by now I
29:27
definitely recommend you guys go and
29:29
check out get featured com it is again
29:32
it’s a huge tool and a resource you
29:35
understand it’s I just I can’t express
29:39
you guys how important it is to be able
29:41
to pitch the host correctly and to have
29:43
the correct story to tell but most
29:45
importantly you better have one clear
29:46
message and have a call to action I
29:48
actually did it one of my very first few
29:51
uh podcast I did was a guy who was livid
29:53
all over the board and I could not I
29:55
couldn’t not Corral this guy I could not
29:57
bring him in I was in oh my gosh I’ve
29:59
never given it some of my audio guide
30:00
edits I’m like you’re going to have to
30:02
splice this down so much because it was
30:04
just all over the place and it doesn’t
30:06
make any sense and I think that right
30:08
gasps go to get featured com check it
30:11
out Daniel is the real deal when it
30:14
comes to authenticity please everyone is
30:16
listening I really hope that you
30:19
probably go back and read listen to this
30:20
again and understand the importance in
30:23
your message of being truly authentic
30:24
it’s one of those things as a as a host
30:27
nothing is more appealing to me than and
30:30
what I know I’m going to have someone on
30:31
who I know is going to be totally
30:33
authentic they’re not going to pull
30:35
anything they’re not going to hide
30:36
anything back they’re going to truly
30:37
deliver real content and not be a full
30:40
pitchfest type of thing that’s really
30:42
and you got to be able to master that
30:44
right because you don’t wanna waste your
30:46
time not having a call to action but the
30:48
same time as a host I don’t want you
30:49
coming on my podcast and just pitching
30:51
all day long where there’s no content
30:53
and again I mean Daniel you are the
30:56
master of that obviously I mean people
30:58
who are listening this I’m sure
30:59
you haven’t taken notes go back and
31:00
listen to it again and take take notes
31:02
and most importantly implement I’m a
31:04
huge believer that you can listen to all
31:06
the stuff but you don’t take action on
31:07
it it’s it’s kind of pointless so please
31:09
check out if you haven’t already checked
31:12
it out make sure you go back and check
31:13
out get featured comm it’s by far one of
31:16
the best tools and resources for you to
31:18
get your message out and understand the
31:21
importance of podcasting I just I love
31:22
it it’s it’s been for me it’s been kind
31:25
of a sorry I guess to things that say
31:27
what is get on podcast and the second
31:29
thing is you might want to create your
31:31
own podcast as well and you know use
31:33
that as a platform to bring other people
31:35
on it get I it is such an honor for me
31:37
to have you on this podcast and god I’ve
31:39
been hoping it’ll John for a while and
31:41
it’s just such an honor to have you
31:42
you’re so authentic and just so pure and
31:45
provide such a massive content I just
31:48
love it so I appreciate that very much
31:49
it’s all mine Dave I really appreciate
31:52
it thank you very much and in terms of
31:54
like p.m. pair just because you said
31:56
taking action guys listening to this you
31:59
know take some action and send me an
32:02
email I really genuinely and I mean this
32:05
and if you want to test me right because
32:07
I’m telling you right now there are a
32:09
lot of podcast shows out there and a lot
32:10
of guests that come on shows and they go
32:13
yeah you know get in touch and and they
32:15
don’t have the time and I promise you
32:18
you want to test me on my authenticity
32:20
send me an email and I will respond back
32:22
to you and we will start a relationship
32:24
because I really do care to build
32:27
relationships with people I’m not
32:28
interested in the you know the bots and
32:31
all this stuff I I definitely will be
32:33
using and implementing bots and and
32:37
anything that’s automated but it has to
32:39
be with my personal you know I need a
32:42
shine through I need to have my
32:44
personality shine through and be
32:45
authentic even though you know you could
32:48
use automation as well but I’m send me
32:50
an email to Daniel at get futurecom it’s
32:53
Daniel at get futurecom and in the title
32:56
just put awesome authenticity so I know
32:59
it it’s it’s from this podcast show I
33:01
know I should respond to you so again
33:04
it’s Daniel at get featured calm and in
33:07
the title just put authenticity Daniel
33:10
thank you so much any party
33:13
yeah one other thing as well is if you
33:16
want to check out my show so it’s Daniel
33:19
Geffen calm with one F or if you have an
33:22
iPhone which I’m sure most of you
33:24
probably do just go to iTunes and just
33:27
type in can I pick your brain that’s the
33:30
name of my show can I pick your brain
33:32
and I’d love to get feedback from you
33:35
and Dave it’s been such an honor to
33:37
really come on your show and I think
33:40
we’re going to have a little
33:40
conversation after the show about
33:42
potentially working together because I
33:44
see a lot of synergy with clickfunnels
33:46
and get featured so I’m excited for that
33:49
love to Daniel again thank you so much
33:52
everyone
33:52
check out get featured calm and again
33:55
make sure you email Daniel at get
33:58
featured calm and by all means if you
34:00
haven’t already can I pick your brain
34:02
podcast go out there and check it out
