00:00
- So, welcome to Hotlanta.
00:02
This is where we’re stayin’.
00:04
We literally have six boxes,
00:05
one box goes to each table as far as the buyers packets.
00:09
When they buy, you hand 'em that packet.
00:11
Pretty easy,
00:12
I mean it’s the same thing we always do,
00:14
Russell gets up on stage, he kills it,
00:17
it goes crazy, we take order forms,
00:18
we run payments,
00:20
we go home richer.
00:21
(laughing)
00:22
(rock music playing)
00:32
- You hear about the surprise we’re doing for Todd tonight?
00:34
- Yeah.
00:35
- Do you know about it?
00:36
- Jake told me a little bit.
00:38
- So, this is the purpose,
00:41
I know if I just asked Todd he’d say no.
00:43
And I’m gonna give it to him as a gift
00:44
cause you can’t like give back a gift
00:46
That’s kind of the thing,
00:48
this is your Christmas gift,
00:51
you can’t re gift your gift, we have to make this a thing
00:52
and then he’ll have to say yes.
00:53
I hope it all works.
00:55
- (talking on a microphone in the background)
01:05
- Hi!
01:05
- How are you doing?
01:06
- Nice to meet you!
01:07
- You too! My wife Colette.
01:08
- Hi, I’m Lauren.
01:10
- Hi! Nice to meet you.
01:11
- Lauren is the MC and she’ll be introducing you tomorrow.
01:13
- Very cool.
01:14
- She’s also a ClickFunnels user.
01:15
She’s been donating $297 a month.
01:17
- Well thank you!
01:18
(laughing)
01:19
- Thank you for creating it though,
01:21
it’s amazing, like how many cool things people have…
01:24
- It’s been fun, it’s been a crazy ride.
01:26
- There’s always a great woman behind it.
01:27
- Every time.
01:28
(laughing)
01:30
- Okay, seven o’clock,
01:32
should we go to Todd’s party right now?
01:34
- Sweet. Let’s go surprise him.
01:37
- Okay.
01:38
- So are you ready for your birthday present?
01:39
- Yes! What is it?
01:41
- Okay, we’re goin’ back to the hotel room.
01:42
- Yeah, we got dinner in an hour.
01:43
- Okay, that’s plenty of time.
01:45
What was your thought, what’d you think it was?
01:46
- I don’t know, I mean,
01:49
I don’t know, honestly, like,
01:50
but now I’m like, way thrown off,
01:52
because now you’re sayin’ it reduces churn and stuff,
01:54
so, I’m not sure what it could be.
01:57
- Todd, you can sit there,
01:59
Ashley, sit next to him,
02:00
everybody else come sit on the couch,
02:01
if you guys want.
02:03
Alright, we gather together in a hotel room tonight,
02:04
in front of all our friends,
02:07
to, uh, there’s Todd and Ashley.
02:10
Bunch of our other friends,
02:11
and we are about to show Todd
02:14
the future of ClickFunnels.
02:15
And he doesn’t even know yet.
02:16
- I have no idea what’s going on.
02:18
- Unless he hates it, then it’s not the future,
02:19
it might end right now.
02:21
Okay,
02:22
- [Todd] Alright, what do we got?
02:23
- so, we’ve gathered you here today,
02:25
because, I knew if I asked you this initially
02:29
you’d say no, so I was like alright,
02:31
(laughing)
02:33
so now the peer pressure will force you,
02:35
just kidding.
02:37
Jake sat down and designed something
02:38
that’s so freakin’ amazing.
02:40
- Jake just replaced all the designers
02:42
(laughing) the entire company.
02:43
- [Russel] They’re all gone.
02:44
So we’re not, it’s not,
02:46
it’s not like a whole new design
02:48
other than, obviously, the onboarding,
02:50
the homepage, the onboarding process,
02:51
and then like the initial dashboard.
02:53
- So you’ve actually got something designed,
02:54
I’m excited now.
02:55
- Yeah.
02:58
So behind this curtain is,
03:00
hopefully the new ClickFunnels dashboard.
03:02
Okay, you ready for this?
03:03
Here we go.
03:05
(sounds of awe)
03:07
- Nice
03:10
That looks awesome.
03:11
I don’t know why you’re scared, I mean (laughing)
03:14
- Okay, so now my Christmas gift that I want from you,
03:16
- Can we get this live by Christmas?
03:19
- By our birthday!
03:22
(laughing)
03:24
- This isn’t near as bad as I thought it was gonna be,
03:27
“I’m gonna hate it,” I was like “I love this!”
03:29
Let’s do it.
03:31
Such a build up. (laughing)
03:34
- Happy Birthday!
03:37
- No, I do like it. Awesome.
03:38
Alright let’s get some dinner.
03:40
(upbeat music playing)
03:52
- Alright, so we just, uh, woke up, got ready.
03:56
We were up 'til like one o’clock last night
03:57
working on slides,
03:58
Now, show’s about to start,
03:59
so we’re headin’ down there to the event room.
04:02
I’m a little nervous,
04:04
this is the first time I’ve ever done this presentation.
04:05
It’s only an hour, usually I speak for ninety minutes.
04:08
And we’re selling a five hundred dollar product.
04:11
All new things, new variables, three new variables.
04:13
But the reason why I said yes,
04:14
cause I literally retired from public speaking,
04:15
outside of Funnel Hacking Live
04:17
after the 10x one but um,
04:19
we wanted to change a presentation and test one out
04:22
so that the speaker team can do one,
04:23
cause most people aren’t letting them
04:26
have ninety minutes on stage,
04:27
and most people don’t want them
04:28
to sell a three thousand dollar offer like we normally do.
04:29
So, this is basically a test
04:31
so I can do this presentation, to see if it works,
04:33
and then I’ll have a recording
04:35
that I can then give to the speaker team
04:36
so they can learn the pitch
04:37
and so that’s the main reason we’re doin’ this
04:39
is just to create a presentation for them.
04:43
You’ll notice in the slides
04:44
that I don’t talk about myself at all.
04:46
Gonna have my stories in there
04:47
and it’s by design, because I’m gonna make this where
04:49
Dave could do this presentation tomorrow,
04:51
he just changes one slide,
04:53
writes Dave Woodward ClickFunnels
04:55
instead of Russell Brunson ClickFunnels.
04:56
And so that’s how we’re doin’ it.
04:59
- Russel, Russel, how you’re doin’?
05:01
- Good, how you’re doin’?
05:02
- (mumbles) Just in case I ran into you
05:04
I was hoping you would sign these for me.
05:07
That would be awesome.
05:09
- What are the chances of that?
05:11
- I was like, people are gonna think I’m crazy,
05:13
running around with these books
05:14
hoping I’m gonna run into Russell Brunson.
05:17
Freakin’ awesome.
05:19
Thank you!
05:20
- Where are you from? Are you from here?
05:21
- Yes, oh! Oh! Wait, Hold on.
05:27
I can’t not get this.
05:30
Awesome, man, thank you, appreciate you.
05:37
- Thanks man!
05:39
Good meetin’ you, thank you!
05:40
- Could I get a pic?
05:41
Sorry, I know you’re out of here
05:48
Thank you so much!
05:50
- Real quick, quick, I gotta go I’m gonna get in trouble.
06:04
- Hey man!
06:05
- [Russel] What’s up?
06:06
- Get outta here!
06:07
Good to see you man,
06:08
I haven’t seen you in a bunch of years.
06:11
How you been?
06:12
- Amazing, how 'bout you?
06:13
- Amazing, busy.
06:15
Wouldn’t have expected anything less.
06:17
Don’t be nervous, I know how, yeah.
06:19
- I do get nervous every time.
06:21
- Really?
06:22
- Yeah, every time I get nervous.
06:23
- I go to sleep before.
06:24
I do, literally, I fall asleep before.
06:25
If you see me before, I’m not now.
06:29
Alright man.
06:30
- Great to see you.
06:31
(cheering in the background)
06:33
- Ah, the anxious nerves before you go on,
06:35
and it’s like, also you get tired,
06:38
so like, I don’t know, it’s like the yawn,
06:41
the adrenaline gets up and you get tired from it,
06:43
and then you’re yawning,
06:44
and you’re like “I can’t be asleep right now!”
06:46
I’ve never done a five hundred dollar offer
06:47
on stage ever, in the history of my career,
06:48
even, like, way back in the day.
06:50
So I think it should be super easy to sell.
06:53
But I’ve also never done a sixty minute presentation
06:55
so hopefully the shrink in time
06:57
will be okay with the shrink in the price?
07:00
And hopefully I don’t go to ninety minutes,
07:02
'cause I have not timed this yet.
07:03
- Okay, good luck!
07:05
- You look beautiful.
07:06
- Thank you.
07:08
You’re gonna kill it, bring the energy.
07:12
- I must have like twenty slides, (making clicking sounds)
07:14
like, (clicking sounds)
07:15
I must have skipped like thirty slides.
07:17
- (crowd drowns out speaker) your powerpoint.
07:18
- Awesome, thank you.
07:18
- No problem.
07:20
- So how’s the audience thing?
07:21
- It got warm inside, which got great,
07:23
but the backside is so disengaged.
07:28
- How’re you doin’, I’m Russell.
07:29
- Francy, nice to meet you.
07:31
- Yeah, she knows you, 'cause everybody knows Russell.
07:32
So you knew who I was?
07:33
- Yeah I actually met you at SANG event
07:35
like, eight or nine years ago.
07:37
- Really, I don’t even remember that.
07:38
You must of - well 'cause you look different,
07:40
I actually, someone posted a picture of you,
07:42
and I’m like, you’re more like, round.
07:45
- I was a little heavier.
07:46
- Yeah a little round.
07:47
- I lost a little weight since then.
07:49
- I was an (squeaker noise) back then.
07:51
- So people still think I’m an (chicken squawk)
07:52
based on how they met me eight years ago.
07:53
They’re like “he’s an (beeping)”
07:54
like “when’d you meet him?”
07:55
“Eight years ago!”
07:57
I’m like, people do get older, and they do mature.
07:58
(laughing)
08:00
- So I’m gonna do a - just get their energy up,
08:02
and do a couple giveaways
08:03
before I…
08:05
Rock it! Have a great time.
08:08
(crowd cheering)
08:12
- Ah! I hate this part! It’s the worst!
08:15
(dramatic music)
08:28
- Oh man I’m so excited to be here with you guys today!
08:31
(cheering)
08:34
- Who here has never heard of funnels before?
08:36
Oh, we are gonna blow your mind today,
08:38
I am so excited.
08:39
I had my own businesses, I was growing,
08:41
I was learning things.
08:42
That’s when I started teaching other people,
08:43
sharing these things with other people,
08:45
that’s when my growth really started happening.
08:46
Okay, so it’s that shift from growth to contribution.
08:49
It’s so simple and so easy,
08:51
that’s why we say we’d just be free entrepreneurs,
08:52
no longer have to go call a tech person
08:54
to go do all these things, you can just do it,
08:55
like, momentum is the secret, this is not hard.
08:58
That sound good?
08:59
Okay thank you guys so much for letting me be here,
09:01
and I’ll see you live next Monday when the challenge starts.
09:03
Thanks everybody!
09:04
(cheering)
09:05
(upbeat music playing)
09:13
- My tongue is tired.
09:15
- Dude you were on fire! Great job.
09:18
- You up right now?
09:19
- Yeah.
09:20
- Very cool.
09:21
- Might as well sell back to back.
09:23
So, if you guys are gonna go have fun, cool,
09:24
if you wanna meet up for lunch, let me know.
09:26
Lisa’s out in the audience.
09:28
We got married on Sunday,
09:28
I was just telling your wife.
09:29
- Last Sunday?
09:31
- It already happened?
09:31
- Yeah!
09:33
- We’re goin’ to Italy to do it, which is to family,
09:34
but it was too much complications,
09:36
so, like last Saturday, like,
09:38
“Why don’t we get married tomorrow?”
09:39
“Alright let’s do it!”
09:41
- So you’re doin’ a ceremony there then?
09:41
- No just her parents,
09:43
and (mumbles) came over (brushes hands) done.
09:46
Alright, see you guys.
09:48
- Good luck up there.
09:51
- I unzipped my shoes so I could -
09:53
- (whispering) Hey everybody.
09:56
- I’ll be your director.
09:57
- (laughing) okay.
09:59
- You know Gene already, right?
10:00
- (laughing) How’s it goin’?
10:04
- So uh, you guys just wanna have a seat,
10:06
and I’ll (talked over by other speaker)
10:08
- …Ken Okazaki’s producer, executive director…
10:10
- Cool.
10:12
- Yep, also uh… a member of your Two Comma club.
10:15
- That’s awesome.
10:16
- Let’s go and have a seat here.
10:22
- Russell Brunson, take one.
10:24
- Hey friends, it’s Gene McNaughton, Success Resources.
10:26
It is an absolute honor to have our guest here,
10:29
Russel Brunson.
10:30
- Great to see you.
10:31
- Thank you man, thanks for being here.
10:32
I notice in your marketing,
10:34
you’re always giving something first,
10:35
you’re giving the blueprint,
10:37
in your podcast, you’re sharing the
10:38
exact details of the situation,
10:41
what you did and how you drove the outcome.
10:43
Now there’s a lot of people that market, market, market,
10:46
and make all the big promises,
10:47
but you’re giving things up first.
10:48
How does that work for you?
10:50
- I think it’s really the longer game,
10:52
you can always trick people into giving you money,
10:55
or with something with like
10:56
"I’m gonna show you this secret thing,
10:57
but you gotta pay me!"
10:58
But then like the person doesn’t buy again,
11:00
like they buy once, and its like a weird relationship.
11:01
I was like, I wanna be in this business
11:02
for a decade or ten decades,
11:04
I would keep a longevity,
11:05
and so because of that you have to give a lot,
11:07
and a lot of reciprocity comes back.
11:09
I’ve had people literally,
11:10
we had a kid that bought my book,
11:12
this was probably two years ago,
11:13
went through, built a big company,
11:15
won a bunch of awards from us,
11:16
and then he joined my high-end coaching program,
11:18
he’s like "I feel guilty, I paid $7.95 for the book,
11:21
and made this whole business,
11:22
I’m giving you money,
11:23
I don’t even want to be in your coaching program,
11:25
but I feel like I owe you that much money back."
11:26
So he gave us $25,000 to join this program
11:28
just 'cause he felt obligated
11:30
'cause we had just given so much,
11:31
and I think, you know, nowadays
11:33
with social media, whoever’s giving the most
11:35
are the ones that people follow
11:36
and they keep plugging into and keep tuning into.
11:37
And so we just try to give a ton,
11:39
and when you do that and you help people…
11:42
At a little level, they want more,
11:43
and they keep following you
11:44
and keep engaging at higher levels with you.
11:46
- Talk about how important goal setting is for you.
11:49
- Oh it’s so important.
11:51
It’s funny 'cause like,
11:52
a lot of times we set a goal and it’s like,
11:54
if we don’t have the goal, I’m a failure!
11:55
No, you set a goal, you miss it,
11:56
okay what’s the new goal?
11:58
It’s kind of more of a…
12:00
It’s more flexible.
12:00
I grew up, I was a wrestler,
12:02
and so I always had, I wanted to be a state champion,
12:04
and then national champ.
12:06
But along that path, I would lose tons of matches
12:08
but I’d lose a match, look at it,
12:10
what do I need to tweak and change,
12:11
and then come back again, and come back again,
12:12
and eventually I got to those goals.
12:14
I think the biggest thing is a lot of people set goals,
12:16
and for some reason they get fearful,
12:17
like “What if I don’t hit it? Then I’m a failure.”
12:20
Set a goal and start running towards it,
12:22
but be okay if it fails,
12:23
like okay, what are the adjustments I need to make,
12:25
reset the goal, go again. Reset the goal and go again.
12:28
Keep going, because that’s the best part of life,
12:30
is the chasing of it.
12:31
When you get the goal, it’s never as cool,
12:33
like getting your hand raised at a wrestling match,
12:35
or cashing the checks,
12:36
never as cool as the journey.
12:39
So it’s just like enjoying the journey,
12:41
and keep resetting the goals,
12:42
and don’t freak out about the failures.
12:43
- I remember you saying,
12:45
"I’ve got this other opportunity that I’m workin’ on,
12:47
I’ve got this other thing,"
12:49
and that I believe was the beginning of ClickFunnels.
12:52
How did it originate? When did you say,
12:55
“this is what the world needs”?
12:57
- You never know 'til,
12:59
that’s the fascinating thing about the market,
13:00
you never know what’s gonna hit until
13:02
you put it out there.
13:03
I was trying thing after thing,
13:05
we had been helping entrepreneurs for a long time,
13:08
like teaching them and coaching them, having fun with that.
13:11
Every single entrepreneur always got stuck
13:12
at the technical parts.
13:14
They would conceptually understand,
13:15
“Okay, that’s what I need to do.”
13:16
But then they’re like, “How do I actually do that?”
13:18
They didn’t know.
13:19
It was harder for them to progress,
13:21
and so I had my business partner, Todd,
13:24
who’s the best developer I’ve ever met, he was like
13:26
“I think I could build something that makes this easy.”
13:28
So he started that process of building it,
13:30
and it was funny 'cause
13:31
as he would get iterations of it done, he’d like
13:34
“Here try it,” and I would try to do stuff,
13:35
I’m like “How does it work? I don’t understand.”
13:36
He’s like, “Ah, I failed.”
13:37
And I’m like, “No tell me.”
13:39
He’s like “No if you can’t figure it out then we failed.”
13:40
And so they had people record videos of me trying to use it,
13:43
and if I got stuck, he’s like “do it again.”
13:45
He kept going back until it was simple enough
13:46
that I could do it.
13:48
I was able to start doing,
13:49
like building these webpages and funnels
13:51
that I’ve always been having to hire people
13:53
and when I could do it,
13:54
I was like, "Oh my gosh, there’s something here.
13:56
This is simple enough that any entrepreneur could do it.
13:59
And then we were just like, “Okay this is the focus.”
14:00
We ended up shutting down and selling off
14:02
every other idea, every other business,
14:04
and just went 100% in.
14:05
Next month it’ll be our five year birthday
14:07
since the launch of ClickFunnels
14:08
and it’s just been all consuming
14:10
and the craziest ride of my life.
14:14
- It’s a wrap. Where’s the bathroom?
14:16
Just kidding, uh. Just kidding, not really.
14:18
Kidding not kidding.
14:20
Thanks everybody!
14:21
- Hey everybody, real fast.
14:22
I just wanna express a massive
14:24
amount of appreciation to you guys.
14:26
For us one of the main things
14:27
we really wanted to get out of this,
14:29
that made it as successful for us,
14:31
and that was to be able to actually have a video
14:33
from of Russell actually doing this presentation
14:35
and we’ve never done it before.
14:37
But for us it was just awesome.
14:38
I’m so appreciative for you guys,
14:40
each and every single one of you.
14:41
Once all this processing stuff is done
14:43
I hope you guys have a fun time,
14:44
go out and enjoy Atlanta.
14:46
And again, thank you guys so much,
14:47
I can’t say enough about how awesome you guys are.
14:50
So thank you.
14:51
(clapping)
14:55
(inspirational music)
14:58
- I just want some order, man.
14:59
See listen,
15:01
this is the problem,
15:02
if they had a funnel,
15:04
we’d be able to just get through this whole thing
15:05
without being confused.
15:06
But this is a website, man,
15:08
this is chaos,
15:09
do I want Dolphin Coast?
15:10
Do I want Tropical Diver?
15:11
Or I don’t know! I don’t know where to go.
